It goes without saying that MS.Dhoni will keep the wickets and will NOT be acting as the captain for this point-driven event. The experienced left-hander S.Dhawan from DC will open the innings alongside S.Watson of CSK. Dhawan can be expected to have a good game due to CSK’s lack of off-spinners, to whom he is most prone to lose his wicket.
S.Iyer’s captaincy for the night and his performance with the bat will be most focussed on tonight. To watch an up and coming prodigy like him face a high-caliber, veteran team like CSK would be a definite treat to the eye for each cricket fan. Another reason to pick Iyer is, he is excellent in dancing down the track and clearing spinners over long-on and long-off and he takes just a few deliveries to settle. The odds have been stacked high on his side to score big. Faf du Plessis is on a roll now as he’s been exceptional for CSK in the last 2 matches, which is why he’s been chosen as the VC. A lot of faith has been put on M.Stoinis as he had a brilliant game against KXIP.
MSD’s experiments can be trusted without a second thought, hence CSK’s new fan-favourite S.Curran will be the captain for tonight’s match. He has been brilliant overall in the last matches, though he failed to deliver with the bat against RR in the last match. However, he ended up with an impressive bowling figure 4–33–3, which is quite good for a high scoring 1st innings. A 30+ score with the bat and 2–3 wickets with the ball from the English champ is sure to fetch us some dough.
Despite his poor performance against RR, P.Chawla has been picked because we believe in MSD’s master brain. A few tips from MSD along with a proper fielding set and Chawla is good to go. K.Rabada has been one of the best pacers in IPL since 2018 and hence, goes into the team without a doubt.
R Ashwin, India’s Ace spinner could be a match-winner with the ball. A powerful attack from him can likely make the batsmen in the upper, as well as the mid positions(post powerplay) break a sweat to even get a proper hold of the ball. D.Chahar could get the ball moving today, considering the venue. It’d be exciting to see him tickle batsmen to the first slip tonight.
